BBQ Sauce from scratch... Who knew?

Sooooo I know that it sounds way "fancy" as my friend Chay says I cook, but honestly it is so easy to make your own BBQ sauce and it doesn't have all the ick" in there.. (ick being hfcs- high fructose corn syrup). So I set out to make the perfect sauce and I think I have gotten pretty close.. ;) *I doubled the recipe and also made some pulled pork in my crock pot, for pitas the next night. Just added 2 cups of water and 6 more ounces of tomato sauce...

This recipe calls for...
One very handsome Hubs who is good one the grill.. and an adorable little 2 yr old who wubs to help..
  1. 1 large onion, chopped
  2. 1 tablespoon oil
  3. 3 cloves minced garlic (more if you wub garlic)
  4. 1  14-oz can low sodium tomato sauce
  5. 1/2 cup water
  6. 1/4 cup tomato paste
  7. 1/2 tsp liquid smoke
  8. 2 tsp red pepper flakes
  9. 1TBS Worcestershire sauce
  10. 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  11. 1 teaspoon Honey
  12. Salt and Pepper to taste

Salad Dressing
  1. 3 tablespoons E.V.O.O.
  2. 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice.. (I usually zest the lemon too)
  3. sprinkle fresh basil or dried (or dill is yums too)
  4. salt and peppa
the corn
  1. Fresh basil and a teaspoon of lime..

Zooo-per

Lost but not found..

Seriously, I have  problem I lose everything.. I always have and I always will I guess. But it sucks when you lose things of importance, I could go on for weeks about the things that I have lost or misplaced, but I just wanted to talk about things lately. In June I went on two trips, one to Vegas/Utah and one to Seattle. My trip to Seattle I had a layover in Chicago. I left my phone there, how lovely right? It was a monday morning when my Mom got a phone call, he said hi this is Jose calling from United Airlines are you Lacy's  Mom? Her heart sank as she said yes I am. Imagine her relief when he said I found her cell phone will you tell her to call me .... eekkk My Mom is still mad at me for scaring her like that! So anyways I got lucky.. whoo hoo.

Trip out of Salt Lake City... Not so Lucky.. ;( I was at the ticket counter checking in my bags, my stupid suitcase weighed 54 lbs, he said to take out 2 of them. I was in a hurry and the first thing I saw was my make-up bag. I thought this should be easy I will just throw it in my diaper bag. So I did. Anyways I forgot it when I was leaving the plane.. Sad right.. Every girl knows how terrible it is to lose Make-up. Unless you are a natural beauty, which face it I am not. So back to the story. Right next to the makeup bag was 2 dirty diapers, I seriously did not mean to leave them on there... anyways I guess I really pissed of the flight attendant who had to clean those bad boys up and she figured her reward would be new makeup. First of all gross, who wants to use a strangers makeup.. Oh well that is life. The last few weeks I have been looking extra ugly.. (Poor Alex) One of my amazing friends took pity on me and sent me a Sephora gift card as an early birthday present.. (LOVE HER)
I was able to go shopping this week and start to re-buy my face. I would also like to thank Nordstrom for having their sale and having a Mac brush set on sale...
Stilla -Naturaleyes eye shadow palette and smudge stick eyeliner.
My new favorite foundation I highly recommend -MAKE UP FOREVER
Blush- Benefit Coralista (free with my Sephora points)
Bronzer - Nars, Laguna
Eyeliner - Nars Black Moon
Mascara- Cover Girl Lash blast... ( I am in love)

South Carolina Road trip part 2

It still is so crazy every time I look and see that I have two little boys sitting in a double stroller. I am so lucky to have such incredibly happy and handsome little boys! I love them so much, I want to squeeze them everyday! oh and I do...
One of the days it was raining pretty hard, I am actually happy that it did, because we were able to check out the aquarium. Like most curious little boys Noah absolutely loves animals and discovering new things.

The famous King Street.. We headed down there almost every single day awesome shopping and food!! We had such a great time in Charleston, in fact we fell in love and will be headed back very soon! I need to work on my southern accent y'all....
On the drive back home, we stopped in Nashville, Alex's little brother is stationed there and we had not seen him since he got back from Afganistan serving our country.
We weren't in Nashville very long, but long enough to see the Grand ole Opry and downtown... I wish we would have had more time there..
Noah loved the guitars... He does have one a wiggles guitar, the batteries died on that thing and you better believe that they wont be replaced either... Don't judge me -k-.. I will put him in lessons when he is older.
 A man can dream right??
Noah loved stopping in Kentucky to see the "Chooch"
My little brother and his cute wife live in Louisville, we were able to meet in Indiana and have dinner on the water.. The river was super dirty and had tons of debris floating down it due to the flooding. Our trip down south we passed several flooded homes, businesses and roads. We also were down there during all of the crazy tornados that happened this year. I have never had such a terrible feeling in my gut seeing those homes that were lost. It puts everything into a new prospective on how blessed we are and also how quickly it can change.
We had such a fun trip, it was nice to actually spend time together as a family. I am gone so much with work and he is so busy with school that I feel like we never see each other.... all I can say is that I love all these boys..

South Carolina Road trip! Part 1

We were really stumped about where to go during Alex's spring break. We knew we wanted to go somewhere warm to get away from the freezing A winter in Michigan we had just endured.. So we decided to head to Charleston.... From Michigan it is about a 15 hour drive. I thought it would be a piece of cake with two kids in the car that long, I mean we all know I am a pro traveler. We packed up the Yukon with our snacks and a thousand DVD's for Noah man! We had a few stops along the way and we made it to Charleston in 16 hours... I must say that I would never recommend doing that to anyone.. Driving there all in one day I mean, Alex and I were both about to fall asleep.. But somehow we made it there yay!! We stayed at the "Tides" hotel in Folly Beach, a cute little place that they had remodeled, and best of all it was right on the ocean.. Here are some pics of the trip!

While driving through Kentucky we saw a billboard for the 1st KFC. We thought maybe we should stop there just to see it.. Um ya I guess here is the picture, luckily it was only 15 min out of our way so it wasn't that big of a waste of time.. I bet the K. Sanders would not appreciate the over processed, hormone chicken factory it has become... Sad.. ;( But I would still give anything for some biscuits from KFC don't judge, you know you love them too..
I have always wanted to go to a plantation... I mean who hasn't seen the notebook right? We went to Magnolia Plantation, it was breathtaking I loved everything about it. There was a petting zoo, train tour through the swamp (where they filmed "Swamp Thing"), all of the beautiful gardens... Ah how I love Charleston.. If you have heard me say that before I know it isn't the first and it wont be the last.

Swamp Thing.. Noah said the "Eye" was in there. * I will have to do a post on "the eye" all of my friends and family know that Noah has a secret and he sees dead people... Seriously though it is pretty freaking scary the stuff he says..

Honestly as much as my kids and I love the beach, I never want to not live by one again!

I was minding my own business when a flock of seagulls came and stole my sandwich. It scared me so bad, I am sure that would have been hilarious to see that sight. Anyways Noah is trying to get my food back for me.. So funny.
